Principle:


According to GB/T533-A, GB/T1033.1, GB/T6155, GB/T23561, YB/T5300, JB/T7984.3, GB/T 1713, GB/T8929, GB/T1713, GB/T208, GB/ T5071, QB/T1010, GB/T9966, GB/T18856, GB/T24203, GB/T8330, SL-237, etc. Using Archimedes' immersion volume displacement method, with a special pycnometer, the measured value can be accurately read.

Technical data:


The true density of powder is one of the physical properties of powder materials, and the basic physical parameters are indispensable for powder particle size and porosity testing.


1. When measuring the specific surface area of the powder, the data of the true density of the powder is required for calculation.


2. Many inorganic non-metallic materials are made of powder raw materials, so it is necessary to determine the true density of the powder in scientific research or production.


3. In the manufacture of cement or ceramic materials, it is necessary to measure the particle size distribution of clay and the fineness of ball milling mud, and data of true density is required.


4. For cement materials, measuring the true density of cement is of great significance to both the production unit and the user.


5. Shorten the lengthy time such as true density test of traditional fireproof materials, and directly display the desired result without calculation


Testing conditions:


1. Under immersed method, choosing the liquid which can not dissolve but can moisture the sample surface is important.


2. For ceramic materials, such as feldspar, quartz and ceramic products, distilled water can be used as liquid medium.


3. When testing the materials which have chemical function with water, such as cement, kerosene or xylene and other organic liquid can be used as testing medium.


4. For inorganic powder, organic liquid also can be chosen.


5. The bubbles need to be removed when powder immersed in the liquid totally, then the excluded volume can be confirmed.


By using porcelain mortar to rub powder and filter it by 240 mesh sieve, then put the powder in the weighing bottle, and dry it by moisture meter under 105℃, take out and cool it to room temperature in desiccator




Measuring Steps


1. Advance preparation:

 Container: for filling powder samples

 Pycnometer: 50CC fixed volume with thermometer attached


2.Measuring steps:

 Put the container on the weighing platform first, press the key -0-to make it zero.

 Put the sample into the container, and then put the container on the weighing platform, press the key MEMORY for memorizing   (Wa).

 Fill the Pycnometer with liquid and put it on the weighing platform together with sample, press the key MEMORY for memorizing (Wb)

 Pour part of the liquid out from pycnometer, then pour the sample into the pycnometer completely, and then fill the pycnometer with liquid, put it on the weighing platform with container, press the  key MEMORY for memorizing (Ww).

 The sample density will be showed directly.
